Oliver Platt works in a city investment firm. Platt takes big risks and is defrauding the company he works for, Bulmont Investments. A priceless painting, The Patrician Lady, is being lent to Parnell's gallery. At its unveiling there are gunshots fired and an explosion, suggesting that a robbery has just taken place. The painting is still occupying its position but with one difference - the word "Zarchetti" is stamped on the painting's canvas. Has the Patrician Lady really been stolen?

The only problem is that Claire's aunt is considering changing her will and leaving her money to her grandaughter instead. This sets the scene for murder!
